Literary Scholar | Higher Education Leader | Professional Developer.
I am a scholar and teacher in American literature across the curriculum and published extensively on early twentieth-century US writers including F. Scott Fitzgerald, Edith Wharton, Nella Larsen, Jessie Fauset, and Anzia Yezierska. I’m a teacher who excels at making humanities texts and concepts accessible to audiences of all ages and backgrounds. I synthesize my literary scholarship and years in higher education leadership in my new book, Guiding Academic Institutions through Crossroads and Crisis: A Literary Leadership Toolbox (forthcoming from Routledge: Taylor& Francis, 2026). Through narratives of leadership from Shakespeare to streaming, I show how literature can provide readers with guides both to understand and navigate the challenging state of higher education in the US today.
